Manahau grounding - Exclusion zones update 6 September

The restricted access areas on Carters Beach have been revised following the departure of the vessel today.

Please note restrictions will remain in place while remedial action and equipment removal is underway.

Area A has been revoked and replaced with Area C so remediation and equipment removal can be carried out safely.

Area B restrictions remain largely the same, permitting access to the golf club by car.

Buller District Council and Maritime NZ thank our residents for their cooperation and patience during this operation.
