The Buller District Council as manager of the Port of Westport is committed to meeting its duties under the Maritime Transport Act 1994 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. We are continually working to improve health and safety practices at the port.

You can view the latest bar sounding  and radio the Harbour Master or call the port information line to obtain qualified advice before crossing the bar. It is mandatory for all vessels to change to Channel 14 VHF at 1 mile from the breakwater entrance until berthed or vice versa.
